Rilstone Special

We've all seen lots of photos of Keith with the ex-Eldred Norman Eclipse Zephyr Special, but this is his Rilstone Special leaving the line at Collingrove. This was in the days when no decent official (including goal umpires) would be seen dead without his white dustcoat (or labcoat depending on your background).

What was the name of the Aussie special that Tim cut up and dumped in the early 70's?

It is not the Wedge as i purchased that one from him and it is now still around and being raced in historics in WA altho it was for sale a couple of months ago for $ 35,000.

I don't really remember another one although he did throw out an Elfin Mallala nose which troubled me a bit. The Wedge was a very well known special, built by a well known SA A7 club stalwart.

I don't mean to crap on your cake, but I think you are sadly mistaken again.
The car in the photo is the Cooper Type 40 Bristol (rear eng.) that Jack Brabham brought to Aust. probably driven in the photo by 2nd owner Reg Smith.
See full history of this car in "Historic Racing Cars in Aust." by the late John Blanden. (page 103)

That looks right. It's on the Collingrove website as the Rilstone special.
