Well, the eBay auction has come and gone. There were no apparent bids. I'm not sure if a deal has been struck with an interested party. The seller used a published inflation index to establish the selling price as a break even point on his purchase price 26 years ago.
The decay of this once loved car (by me and others) may be a lesson learned as many of us have more projects awaiting commencement than we have years left to complete them. This family, in addition to the Bolwell, have a couple of Chev Blitz trucks and a number of stationary engines on their to-do list.
Here's a few photos of the car in slightly better days. The first two are the as bought appearance of the present owner and the other one dates back to 1968 or 9, taken in Robe in SE SA when it was our much travelled, daily used transport (the MGTC was for special occasions and the FE panel van was a workhorse.)

Hi John
I also owned a mark 5 Bolwell. Which i built and then sold in about 1971.
I have often wondered what happened to it.
Mine was yellow and was registered in Victoia as JSZ580 I think. It had a 186 Holen engine with triple su carbies a Dodge Cranbrook gear box and the rest was holden. I sold it to a guy called Kevin Ross and never heard of it again.Should you have any info you can contact me at
