Soapbox.

Here is a small selection of the hundreds of lovely old cars in the Cavalcade of Cars at McLaren Vale including the Silver Anniversary Buick that the late Doug Lehmann used to compete in Variety Bashes with. The event was for Vintage and Classic cars. Included in those hundreds of cars were a significant number of brand new Mustangs straight off the showroom floor so to speak. Does the word "Mustang" mean instant classic? If not, why was it not open to a collection of brand new Camrys? I didn't take my glass of shiraz out on the footpath to watch a group of cars that I could see in large numbers any day of the week. The name "Mustang"is revered as it is named after a wild horse. We have wild horses in Australia too. They are called brumbies. We too had a vehicle here called a "Brumby", It was a little Subaru ute that was called a "Brat" in the US. Event organisers need to watch that. When they see the word "Mustang" on an entry form it doesn't necessarily mean an OLD Mustang.
