Any similarity is purely co-incidental.

Same family, new Z, old Z. Both look great. They don't look much like each other though and the new ones are hardly retro.

The new ones could be, somewhat unkindly, called "portly"!! Dang, they feel decidedly clumsy after our nimble Z's. Never mind, for a fast road tourer they're pretty neat.
