The Buchanan Pontiac.

Another photo has come to light, amazingly from a blog in Europe, of the Pontiac V8 powered Buchanan coupe from South Australia.
The origin of the hardtop is obvious (from a VW beetle). A Stobie pole (unique to SA) is evident and it looks very much like Dawson Street, Fullarton, where the car once lived.

This car was built by, not Peter Mac, but Peter De Mac, a well known speed car driver at the time.

Wow 41 years ago - 1974.

The pic was taken opposite my flat in Dawson Street and the car is facing Fullarton Road.

So opposite the gate of your Dad's stables.

As usual I failed to shut the driver's door completely before I took the pic.

What European blog was it on, could have other interesting stuff
