'75 Suzuki SC100

Have you ever seen one of these? I haven't.
They apparently were marketed in the UK.
Rear engined.
1000cc.

They were sold in NZ during their production run, and they were really appealing. A little sporty, but practical and economical. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, of Alfa 105 GTV, Alfetta, Iso Grifo and many, many other iconic cars. Rear-engined, they were laughingly referred to as a micro-Porsche, and when you really tried to hustle one along, the weight of the rear engine would make it oversteer, but at speeds where it wasn't going to be uncatchable. The NZ street machine scene was pretty vibrant because the few rules restricting modification related to not weakening the car's structure and making sure that seat belt mountings and collapsible steering columns weren't compromised. Some put a 3-litre V6 with gearbox from an FWD car into one of these. Proverbial scalded cat, in a straight line at least, because it only weighed about 600 kg more than the drivetrain and driver....
