I wasn't planning on mentioning the tour-down-under for some reason. On the Thursday of that event, the day they loop into the Barossa, including the gruelling climb up Mengler's Hill to Angaston, (I'll show you at Easter time), we were in our usual spot opposite the Greenock Tavern in the Light Council's marquee sampling the local beers and wines. Anyway, here they go past us. Lance is in there somewhere.
What changed my mind, was a couple of photos that arrived today from John Davies in Queensland, titled "Another heat related incident in Adelaide" to which John had added "Good on you South Aussies!!!"
That particular Thursday, in addition to that leg of the Tour, 5000 riders took part in a ride over the same one or two hundred kilometre course, all in their yellow shirts.
