Racing in WA.

Here's a couple of shots of the ex-Hanns, ex-Clearihan etc. etc. race car when it lived out West.

No trouble getting girlfriends.

Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, 1970.
This was Phillip Barton's car. My records show that he only had it for 5 months before it going off to its second owner in Brisbane, Phillip moving on to Ferraris etc. This car featured in many road tests and on the cover of Mike McCarthy's book "Australian Sports Cars and Specials". I reckon it was the brochure car too. Years later in FNQ it was painted red and when Paul and Kathy Rossiter had it it was dark blue with grey velour trim. Not sure where it is these days. It certainly was a very photographed car. Here it is on the cover of SCW. Well, it must be, it has the same rego number.
PS Big Pete tells me that it's B8/1 so there goes my theory. Phillip may well have had it for quite some time as I know very little of B8/1's early history before it was traded in on a Cortina at a Parramatta Road car yard.

Bit of bad luck.

Old man Maclurkin's new racer.

Yet another strange ute.

Mystery Nagari.

David Leaders to Old perth cars n rust

Bolwell Nagari Factory build with 302 Ford V8. a death wish car to drive. did not have it long. bought second hand about 1977 from memory. it had Holley carbie; but not sure if factory fitted. fibre glass body soft top did not have enough weight over rear axle = poor traction. it was dangerous on wet roads. lost it a few times; so traded up. nice looker.

Doesn't ring any bells with me. How about you, Barry Currie? You follow Old Perth Cars n Rust. Did you miss this one?

Boot envy.

Sunbeam Tigers and Alpines are nice cars.
Look how many slabs of Coopers you can fit in the boot. Especially compared to an Ikara.
It is surprising though, how much can be stored on the passenger side floor. Although your passenger might have something to say about it.

This is an ABARTH

Bonnet mascots.

Here's an unusual one.
Obviously the owner is pleased with the circumference of something.

Making an Esprit body.

My favourite 4 x 4.

The Nagari numberplate.

These 4 photos have been doing the rounds of the Facebook sites. The Nagari number in 4 different states.
Here's a couple more South Aussie ones.
Then there's Barry's slight variation.
Here's exactly the same number on Errol's sports.
Barry picked the number up when the yellow car moved East.

What's the latest on these?

A good cross-section.

Only the Mk.5 missing. George went home early.

A job well executed, John.

Nothing fazes this bloke, usually working alone.
I was careful glassing the mould in and spent some time building up some parts, constantly checking the fit by placing the windscreen in and out. Photo shows how the so called problem corner worked out on my car.

Nice job.

How we filmed a Bugatti Chiron at 250mph REVEALED

But to stop a Bugatti you might need a koala.
This photo was taken in Woodside in the Adelaide Hills.
