It is a magnificent car though. Look at these shots taken in 2005 at Nurburgring where it was raced by previous owner Harm Lagaaij.

Elfin ME5
Poor old Trevor is still getting grief from CAMS with his eligibility for the ME5. The scoop's too high, the wing's too high and requires some adjustment, the mirrors are not the same as when somebody or other remembers them and the wheels, well they want him to fit these really old unsafe wheels which would be great on this high powered, high speed missile. One way or another, it will be sorted out. At the moment, a new set of wheels are being sought, costing tens of thousands of dollars I think.
It is a magnificent car though. Look at these shots taken in 2005 at Nurburgring where it was raced by previous owner Harm Lagaaij.

I was reading about this car yesterday on the Atlas F1 Bulletin Board (http://forums.autosport.com/) and there were a few comments implying (and saying) that the previous owner had bought an Australian car in the hopes of being able to cheat without being caught by European stewards unfamiliar with the car. It doesn't surprise me that Trevor is getting grief as he now reverts it to the "proper" configuration as it sounds like there were a lot of changes made.
Hi Paul, I like keeping in touch with Atlas F1 Bulletin Board too. The discussions make very good reading and I have learned a lot from it, especially about Elfin Mallalas. I'll try and post a link to it for others to enjoy as well.
The entry list for the March 2000 Melbourne Grand Prix support race for the International Supersports class (old Can Am and Le Mans cars) includes the Elfin ME5 entered by "Harm Lagaay". I assume he raced there. Does anybody know?
Trevor tells me that yes he did.
