Picking your brain

From Peter Marr.
Do you have any idea what car the small vent in the picture below is from? The large one is Nagari/Cortina. The small one looks like a Ford unit but what from? It's about 62mm OD. I reckon I could fit a couple in the centre console of the Nagari. If I could find out what it's from.

Could be from a triumph TR 6,

Peter, I thought Ford had a patent on those eyeball vents. So my first thought would be to scour old ford brochures. There might be a collection online.

The large one to the left looks like it from the last of the line Australian Ford Escort..And the one on the right is Bolwell/Cortina

Pete

I purchased a couple of new air vents from a UK kit car supplier (that you put me onto as a matter of fact).

They are 69mm od I believe, but you can have them.

For everyone else they have a great catalogue on

Chris Gascoigne says:-
"I reckon the air vent on the right is from a Cortina 2000. Probably hard to find as they are pretty thin on the ground."

Gawler club Triumph fanatic, Martin, just rang me to tell me that he has just been out to the shed to check some of his Triumph sedans and can verify that the vents are definately Mark one and Mark 2 Triumph. There is a difference. The Mk.1 had a chrome surround and the MK.2 had a black plastic surround. The Jensen Interceptor also had them. They were all of the chrome surround type as in the photograph.
