Bay to Birdwood Classic to stop Rundle Street!
The Bay to Birdwood is coming to Rundle Street in the East End on Sunday 13th September. Around 90 classic vehicles of the 50s, 60s and 70s will be on display on Rundle Street, Vardon Avenue and Ebenezer Place.
From 12 noon until 4pm Rundle Street and surrounding Ebenezer Place and Vardon Avenue will be closed to traffic so people can wander amongst these magnificent vehicles, get a close- up look and chat to the owners.
The display will feature the very best of classic vehicles including a 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SL, 1968 E Type Jaguar and a number of Corvettes, Ford Mustangs and Chevrolets to keep any car enthusiast happy! There will also be a fine display of Australian classics like the EH Holden, 1960 Chrysler Royal (built in Adelaide) and Ford Falcon’s.
There will also be entertainment by retro band Raunchy Sugar who will entertain the crowd from 12:30pm to 3:30pm and the Legends Rock and Roll Community Club will perform some rockin roll dancing.
Mal Hyde, Chairman of the Bay to Birdwood says it is the loyal support of historic vehicle owners, admirers, spectators and local communities that have sustained this great South Australian event over the years and we welcome people to Rundle Street for a preview of these vehicles a fortnight before the big event.
