Wow! Who would have thought?
Million Dollar fire. This is the Mordialloc factory, not the one where the cars and design studio are. However, it's the factory where the money is made.

Guess that production will now move to the Thai factory.
Offset in cheaper Thai wages and less regulation and overheads would easily pay for any transport. I believe they were already making Kenworth and Iveco stuff here anyway.
Hopefully they stay here...although who'd blame them for moving offshore with the current government trying its hardest to stamp out Australian manufacturing.

Depends on what tools survived for kenworth n iveco.they may move them to seafood as shipping bulking components from Rayong is very expensive indeed.
Plus if any tools were damaged that the designs survived to re make tools in quick timing.

John, I thought of you when I found this old footage of stock car racing in Oz. Cheers!

Most of the Kenworth moulds were saved and production is now underway at Seaford.
