Viva!

This is a United Motors ad in the Friday June 19th 1965 Advertiser.
Bernie Van E's first race car was a Vauxhall Viva. I wonder if he took the free driving lessons.

First thing I noticed in this post, especially in view of recent posts, was the excellent panel gaps!!!!!!
Never been sure if the correct expression is "get a grip" or "relax your grip".
Anyway, posted 8:46 pm Melbourne.

Mate's mum bought one of these new and was it ever unstable like balancing on tippy toes. JL. Sports Car World did a series of articles over several issues on modifying one of these to go better and handle and finished it off with a luvely racing stripe. Does anyone else remember the articles? Hard to imagine that the Viva begat the HB Torana that begat the LC n then the LJ XU1. Talk about turning dross into gold. 11.02 Bangkok time, 12.02 Pert time and go home time in Melbourne. Col
