My Mk7 had the same stuff,threw it straight in the bin,the car came with a sigma steering column,switch gear,went and got sigma wiring loom,all the plugs match,and have a wiring diagram!!Merry Xmas,happy new year to all Brian D
I bought a complete Holden loom from a guy in Melbourne who makes them also for Fords and the old Chrysler vehicles. Not only was the wiring colour coded but embossed every 50 mms what that wire is for. Also came with own fuse plate. Have to make own box to put it into though. Not that difficult. Just $500 including postage.
Get on the Internet John!! Have a look for "wiring harness circuit" on eBay Motors (www.motors.ebay.com) and you'll get 400+ hits. A brand new kit harness for a 22 circuit system will set you back just over $260 including freight. You really don't need one that involved unless you're planning on power windows etc so look at the lower circuit counts. They can be had for <$200 inc freight. A real bonus is that they use TXL wire which is the lightest available auto stuff and is rated to 105 Celsius. These harness kits come with each wire labeled every few inches plus they've got a brand new fuse panel. If you're interested in going fuel injection etc either now or a bit down the track, talk to me. As you know, I've built race & road car harnesses and fuel injection systems over many years.

Personally I reckon they’re pretty generic and would fit any vehicle.
