B8/111, B8/112 confusion

See my posts dated March 13. I managed to get B8/111 and B8/112 mixed up. Thank you to those who pointed this out to me. At this rate I may need to have a daily corrections post. Anyway, B8/112 is the sports owned by Arthur Neill who is one of only 3 original Nagari owners to still have their car. Michael De Crespigny is the original owner of B8/111 which may be of some interest to Wayne M who has just recently purchased the remains of this car which was involved in an horific accident a while back.

Hi John,

Was B8/111 a silver convertible involved in an accident near Mudgee? If so, I used to know the guy who owned it (D..).

D & both had our Nagaris serviced by Neal Stevens out at Turbos motors in Lakemba. We once swapped cars when picking them up from a service just to try each other's cars for the drive home.He and I lived fairly close to each other on the north side of Sydney and both bought our Nagaris around the same time... and had them for the same period (16 years.)

I wondered what became of D's car after the crash. Such a bad way to go out for a guy who had been a serious Bolwell enthusiast.

Cheers

Hi Glenn,
It was a dark blue metalic, but it is obviously the same car. I think it would be a bit gross to post pictures of the wreck.
Do you still have yours? What is its chassis number? We're trying to piece together some sort of list of Nagaris by chassis number.
John.

Hi again John,

Actually... when I thought about it, D's roadster was actually dark turqouise, so we're definitely talking about the same same vehicle. It was run off the road by a truck who just didn't see it sitting alongside, left the right and went side-on into some solid trees. The impact was right on the driver's door.

I sold my Nagari (B8/73) in late 2003 after driving it as my everyday car for sixteen years. After 160,000 miles, it needed some serious love and I just didn't have the funds to do the job, so I passed it onto to somebody who did. It's something I regret every day... literally. I miss my baby so!

The car is now owned by the Treasurer of the Victorian Branch of the BCC. He's done an amazing ground-up restoration. Exactly what I had hoped for... only the car would look much better if it was still parked in my garage at night :-(

Hi Glenn,
.... but the treasurer is Phil. Surely Phil hasn't bought a Nagari as well? Maybe it was an earlier treasurer - going back through the years they were Tony, Fred, Phil and Phil.
Maybe it's just that I am so far out of the loop....sigh!

Cheers,
Rick

B8/73 must be somewhere in Victoria. Does anybody know?

B8/73 is owned by the current Secretary Keith C.
It is now painted red, see photos on 'smugmug' photosharing website search for 'bolwell' - Bolwell Car Show, that should be interesting viewing for GlennK
