Ragno

This makes me think of Ken's Ragno.
Just a bit newer, more expensive and it looks like it's got doors.

John, is that a Maserati? The one that Dick Johnson drove in Targa Tasmania a few years ago?

Yes, it is the Maserati Barchetta Stradale. One of 15 built at the DeTomaso plant. They were for a one make championship in Europe, the Grantrofeo Monomarca, for "gentleman" drivers which occurred in 1992 and 1993. It had a steel tube backbone chassis. Alessandro DeTomaso was a fan of the spine chassis having used it on the Vallelunga and Mangusta in the 60s. In 1994 it was lent to the Australian Maserati Concessionaire for the NT Cannonball Run, which I think it won outright. The same year Dick Johnson drove and crashed it in the Targa Tasmania. As far as I know the car still lives here in Australia.
