Ted Noack died last week and his funeral was last Tuesday at the Lutheran Homes at Fullarton. Ted was the Team Manager for Shrike Race Cars. The Shrike Formula Holden/Brabham cars were built at the Croydon Park Institute of TAFE in 1988, 1989. The car proved to be instantly competitive in the Australian Drivers Championship. Mark Poole placed 2nd in the 1990 ADC at the wheel of a Shrike. 5 cars were built and they continued to be raced in Formula Holden into the late 1990s. Here is one of them, now living at the Birdwood Motor Museum.
What I didn't know and maybe some others didn't either, was that Ted built a road going sports car, more or less in a clubman style and with V8 power would have to be somewhat formidable. Take a look.
It's certainly a well finished and smart looking unit.
