Ross is at the annual speed trials. Here's some photos he sent the other day.
Was the Milano there this year, Ross? What did Hatfield bring?

Engine bay before and after.
This is Vic's "Mark 7 with the Nagari doors". Last time I heard the job wasn't completely finished yet but as you can see the transformation is looking good.

Bolwell Jolie
This is the second one we've had and the last I reckon. Needs a new head. That's worth about 3 whole scooters. They say they're only good for about 20,000 ks.

Kid with a new toy.
Look what I've got!
No, I didn't pay over $275 on eBay for it. It's a very limited edition, I believe. I'm very grateful to have it, I'm very proud to have it but I'm very pleased to have it too. Now for a real one.

Sounds like a good price. You'd think it would have been snapped up at the swap meet. Trouble is there's not too many wandering around with that much cash in their pocket.
Nagari demister vent.
Where could you get one of these and what is it off?
Robert Wragg wants to know. The soft top is missing one. Former owner, Derek, thinks Hillman Hunter. Rob also asks "where would you get some of those under bonnet clips that hold the windscreen washer hose?"

B8/1 correction.
The wheels in the photo are not the correct ones. The ones on the car originally were made by Morton and May. It's back to the drawing board.
Morton & May are still operating in Sydney so that sounds hopeful. Thanks Big Pete. What would we do without you?

La Pantera Bianca
Seen it in the flesh but have never seen it race or heard it run. That's reason in itself to get over to Phillip Island next month.

Honda S600s
Last month Colin Mc commented on my post about Jim's new acquisition, the Honda S600. He tried to bring up photos of S600 roadsters that he's owned but it didn't work. Here's the pictures. Firstly an S600 with 2 litre Ford, then an original engined S600 but with S800 grille and finally an S600 with Datsun 1400cc power. Engine upgrades on the tiny S600 were common.
In the very early days of the SA Bolwell Club we did have one of these little Hondas in our midst as Austin Healey and Mk 7 owners , the Duncans, up at Norton Summit, also had a ProdSports Honda.
Here's a coupe that was on eBay in Sydney last week.
Finally, talking about Production Sports Cars, check out this little beauty (via Gimmi and Tamerlane).
And while chain drive is on my mind, here's Archie Frazer Nash flat out in his GN (an abbreviation of Godfrey and Nash).
Archie went on to produce cars under his own name which were chain driven right into the thirties. Owners and enthusiasts of these cars were called "The Chain Gang".
Of course, at the beginning of the 20th century, chain drive was commonplace.

B8/001
The new owner of B8/1 will be embarking on a full restoration. As this car, more than any other Nagari, is so significant, it is important to return it to exactly how it was back in 1969 in this restoration. Step one is to gather up the bits required to perform that restoration. That includes wheels. Bear in mind that this car, the prototype, was constructed before those original Nagari mags, the ones with the steel rims, were produced. In fact, as seen in the publicity photographs on the car's release and in all of the magazine articles, the wheels were pressed steel sports wheels. This is an appeal for information or advice that may lead to finding some of those wheels (see photograph).
My first step would to be to ask Bill Davidson which I will do tomorrow.

Easter and other stuff from SN
hi all,
just a reminder that easter monies are now due. for those who want to come but haven't booked please do so before the weekend , or at least let me know as going down to albany to finalise stuff.
Also, on another note, Baz....dear ol mechanic friend baz. I received a ph call monday arvo. help was the call. I am on a boat, between malloy island and alexander bridge, tied to a houseboat mouring and a motor not going broom broom. He ,the dog and chris stuck. So I phoned a few places with no success, so I phoned the augusta police. extremely helpful and the guy there organised sea rescue to come and tow. chris was real worried they would be stuck with a towel, and nothing else on a cold night. quite quickly helped and back to the camper van.
Now those of you who are game enough and know Baz, ask him what was wrong....I know, but that i won't tell. let baz do that if he is game enough...
worst person he could of ph for help aren't I baz....Now the whole Bolly world knows and possibly more :-)
