Was non metallic midnight dark blue with spider web of gel coat cracks as standard after only 6 years on the road. No speedo even. It's build was shown weekly on TV back in 1966. Our knowledge was so minimal we used about 4 gallons of bog and 2 gallons of paint to fix it and yes it then was yellow.
Remember when they were all RED, it's great to see other colours, even though they may not be as fast!

ReplyDeleteand in the early days most Mk7's were driven around in grey primer or bare fibreglass
