Our beloved GTi-Rs have been sold and despatched to Sydney.
The same man bought both, sight unseen, along with this nice one from Mt. Barker....
....together with another one from Queensland. What is their fate? They're on their way to Japan!

Apologies for my obsession with utes.
But here's a few beauties.
Studebaker.
'54 Mainline.
'55 Mainline.
'33 Ford roadster ute. Pity about the whitewalls.

Ford Anglia along with a matching panel van.
Welcome news.
Here's a letter from the SA Minister of Transport. This new historic registration proposal is about to be put into place. Nothing can stop it but objections from wankers with nothing better to do. It suits our situation down to the ground and with the date changes even allows Ikaras (and my 1983 Datsun) into the scheme. Our club was vigilant in our adherence to the rules but over the years, only had to reject 3 applications from Mk.7 owners. The way I see it, those 3 may now be eligible under the proposed new scheme. I only have a couple of days to respond to this but it will be a positive one.
The flexibility brings us into line with the Victorian scheme without the limitations of use that they endure.

Roger's bar mirror.
He certainly knows how to etch glass. There's a certain old 1929 hearse in Kapunda that has Roger's handiwork on the side glass.

Birthday boy.
Happy birthday Bernie.
What's it like to be that old?
Almost the same date as another great sports car driver.
Who would have been 92 on Australia Day.

Electric car day.
Vastly different to last year.
Last year most of the cars on display were DIY jobs like these above. This year they were mostly replaced by brand new electric cars like this BMW.......
....and a few of these Nissans.
The owners of which, apart from driving to work during the week, enjoyed Saturday drives to a cafe in Stirling where they could use the charging post out the front while enjoying a latte and cheesecake inside. Apparently the only batch of these Nissans to come to Australia took a long time to sell and you could buy a no-mileage example from a dealership two years after they had arrived in the country. It was a bit risky to bring in any more. It takes a long time for something new to gain acceptance.
Last time there were a large collection of home built electric bikes, scooters, skateboards and lawn mowers. Nothing like that this year, replaced by this lonely production job....
.....and I hope Eagle Bikes are doing well.
No Teslas by the way, the Tesla owners were apparently at the restaurant up the street while the ordinary people enjoyed their cut lunch under a tree.
