Aussie one-off.
On Pickles SA salvage online auction with a bit over 3 days to run is this little beauty.
Keen observers in the UK have asked me about its history. Well I don't know much at all but have told them what I do, namely that it came to South Australia in the 60s from Victoria where it was built, presumably by someone by the name of Sheppard. During the ownership of keen Jaguar enthusiast, Grant Murdoch, it was raced a couple of times and it still has its CAMS log book with it. The back half is aluminium, the front is fibreglass and the roof is steel (from a Hudson Wasp). Does anybody out there know any more history, particularly from its time in Victoria? Might be time to flick through the old SCWs.

Hispakart.
A comprehensive book about Ramon Lopez and his long history in motorsport in Espana.
Just inside the cover.
That's Ramon on the right, Joe is next to him.
Further into the book we see some of his cars and lo and behold in the top left corner, there's the Nagari.
I'm very pleased to have a copy.
Justin, you might want to compare notes. Madrid's not all that far from London.

You little bottler!
Bottling day.
Norm actually doing something.
Genuine Australian bottle tree.
My share.
About 6 weeks prior we were brewing.
Snags after hard work.
In the carpark.

Stretch
Can't imagine why anyone would want to stretch an FJ.
But now that it's done, I think I'd like it better than the stretched pink Hummer.

SR6 progress
A brand new engine has been built using a 179 block with the original head plus V8 BMW forged pistons and steel con rods. Fingers crossed that the leaking head stud problem is now fixed for good. Most of the suspension is now renewed and a new set of wheels have arrived from the UK to replace the poor old Bowins. John reckoned 45 yo magnesium wheels are probably not cutting edge safety items. The car is ready for and is to enter the Phillip Island Classic in March 2015. The SR6's very first logged event was there in November 1969. Looking forward to some photos in the near future.
Meanwhile John is keeping his eye in with the Cortina at the historic Wanneroo last month.
Others there that caught my eye were of course these.....
WA has its fair share of historic material like this...

A couple more interesting Eurekas.
Bonnet bulge. Is that for more boot space? Headlight covers or pop-ups?
Winged warrior getting a thorough inspection.
By the way, I'm pretty sure that not all Eurekas are red.
